Darlene (Wenning) Michalenko

Darlene (Wenning) Michalenko, 80, Bismarck, passed away on August 8, 2024, at a Bismarck nursing home. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Jaycee Leadership Hall in Jaycee Centennial Park located at 321 East Century Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58503. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Burial will take place in McClusky, ND.

Darlene was born May 28, 1944, at Bismarck Hospital, the daughter of William and Albina (Wahl) Wenning. Darlene grew up and attended school near McClusky, ND. She married Jerry Michalenko in 1964 in McClusky. They raised their two sons, Ron and Richard, in Bismarck. Though the marriage didn't last, they remained friends until her death. Darlene enjoyed serving at the North Dakota Heritage Center, reading and watching college football with her son Richard.

Darlene is survived by her sons: Ron Michalenko and Richard Michalenko; daughter-in-law, Sarah Michalenko (wife of Ron); five grandchildren: (Marilla, Jeremy, Andrew, Parker, Jared); one great-grandchild, (Carter) born after her passing and brother, Don Wenning. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Albina (Wahl) Wenning.
