GILLSON
It is with broken hearts that the family of Jeffrey Gerald Gillson announce his passing on December 1, 2023 at his home in Thunder Bay. Jeff was born on June 24, 1979 to Gerald and Sylvia (nee Kauppi) Gillson. He worked for PUC Services, Inc. as a power line technician in Sault Ste. Marie. Later in life, he moved to southern Ontario, then came back to Thunder Bay. He was a daily gym-goer and an avid listener of heavy metal music, enjoying concerts whenever possible. He loved to travel the long, open road on his motorcycle. Jeff's proudest accomplishment was being a father to his son Rylan. Jeff is survived by his dear son Rylan and Rylan's mother Trish and their family in Sault Ste. Marie. He is also survived by parents Gerry and Sylvia; brother Greg; godparents Jack & Judy Cain; and loving aunts & uncles Marlene, Cathy, Evelyn, Eddy (Anne), and Tom (Wanda), and all their families. He will be lovingly remembered by longtime friends Erin, Ryan, Steven, Cory, and Nathan. Jeff was predeceased by his grandparents Reino & Martha Kauppi and Gerald & Mae Gillson; uncles Louie Kauppi, Kenny Kauppi, Marvin Valliere, and Zane Allam; and cousin Kevin Valliere. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In the heartfelt words of Trish, "Jeff, you were smart, charismatic, hilarious, and you loved your son beyond measure. You will always be remembered as the person you fought so hard to be again. You are safe now and our beautiful boy has a forever guardian angel watching over him. RIP Gilly."
