Elaine Scott Obituary
SCOTT, Elaine Valerie
May 21, 1938 - Feb 1, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Elaine Scott announce her passing on Feb 1, 2024 at the age of 85 due to complications from heart disease. She will be missed terribly by her daughter Michele (Roger) Tepper and her grandchildren, Ava and Tarran. She also leaves behind to mourn her loss, her brothers Ron (Marlene) Langevin, Phil Langevin and Mike (Arlene) Langevin, her sister Mary Jane Allen and her half sister Sandy (Rick) Billson. She was predeceased by her brother Gary Langevin.
Elaine was born in Sudbury, ON and lived in a number of places in northern BC but considered Telkwa her childhood home. She began her lifelong accounting career in Calgary and then spent time in Smithers before moving to Prince George in her mid-20's where she worked at Milos Equipment and then at Crossroads Construction for nearly 40 years.
Elaine kept busy well into her 80's working at Crossroads and volunteering with the Hospital Auxiliary where she manned the front desk a couple days a week. She used to joke that it was the only job where she was allowed to tell people where to go and how to get there.
Elaine was a feisty adventurer who travelled a lot in her younger years but her favorite place was Bednesti Lake. For close to 50 years by 4:30pm on most Fridays she was out the door and headed to the cabin. She loved quadding, snowmobiling and even horseback riding if it meant she could find a way out into the country or up in the mountains.
Elaine was highly independent and always said that age was just a number and lived her life that way right up to the end. Our hope is she is off somewhere in the mountains riding and enjoying the sun on her face as she had missed that more than anything the past couple of years.
There will be a Celebration of Life on March 23rd at the Bon Voyage Motel at 1pm. We would love to have those of you who knew Elaine there to share some stories, memories and undoubtably have some laughs as we reflect on the full life lived by this incredible lady.
