Patricia ROLLAND Obituary

ROLLAND, Patricia Ellen(nee Noble)
Of Burlington, ON. Peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 27 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late John Rolland (1994). Predeceased by her parents George and Marie Noble and sister Mary Jane Blais. Proud and loving mother of Michael and his wife Mary of Toronto, Suzanne, Jo-Anne and her husband Sal Pusateri and Lisa, all of Burlington, ON. Cherished Nana to Megan, Alexandra and John Rolland. Grandmother to David and Kirsten Pusateri. Originally from Thessalon, Ontario, Mom came from humble Northern Ontario roots to the big city of Toronto to train at St. Michael's Hospital as a nurse graduating in 1952. She then followed her passion for travel by joining Trans-Canada Air Lines as a flight attendant where she met our Dad. They married in 1956 and immediately moved to Montreal where her four children were born. Mom's time in Montreal introduced her to football which became a new found passion she held for life. In 1970 the family moved to Burlington where Mom lived in the family home until her fall two weeks ago. Mom's love of nursing and caring for people continued throughout her life as she extended love and care to many in need beyond her immediate family. She was the 'go-to' person for extended family and friends. Mom and Dad shared their love of travel with their family. Mom especially loved the south where she enjoyed the feel of warm sand between her toes.

Mom was blessed with good friends: childhood, nursing classmates, bridge partners and many dear friends that she shared with Dad. She was a parishioner of St. Raphael's Church since 1970. Mom was a very loyal Buffalo Bills fan which over the last few years would explain her great sense of humour and patience.

It was only fitting that Mom passed away on Dad's birthday so they could again dance together on the sunny side of the street.

Special thanks to Mom's TLC care givers, Dr. D., Dr. Gee, Dr. Killorn and Dr. Kumaranayake for their compassionate and respectful care.
