Jeffrey William Hoecherl
1954 ~ 2024
Jeffrey William Hoecherl, 70, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on October 23rd 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff was born October 10th, 1954 at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. the son of Dawnetta Ruth Grange and Arthur William Hoecherl.
Jeff graduated from Kearns High School in 1973 then joined the navy in 1973, and served until honorably discharged in 1975.
Jeff married Laurie Sue Mallory on November 7, 1981 at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, with Monsignor Hedderman officiating. They were lovingly married for 42 years, and they had four children together.
Jeff loved gardening and volunteering in the community. Aside from maintaining a beautiful and exquisite garden at home, he volunteered in horticulture at Red Butte Garden until 2013. He also regularly volunteered at Tracy Aviary in horticulture for 16 years.
Remaining to cherish Jeff's memory are spouse, Laurie Hoecherl; children, Patrick Hoecherl, Matthew Hoecherl, Holly Hoecherl, and Nathan Hoecherl; grandchild, Zachary Haro.
Preceding Jeff in death are his parents: Arthur (Bill) Hoecherl Dawnetta Ruth Grange Hoecherl, sister: Jana Dawn Hoecherl
A celebration of life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor on Tuesday, October 29th from 6-8 PM. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 30th at noon at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, with Reverend Erik Richtsteig officiating.
