Margaret, Andrew and Peter and your families, thinking of you all at this time. I have very fond memories of your mum (and Dad) from our childhood days in Tawa. Both your parents were loving, caring people who I always had a lot of respect for when growing up. Big hugs!

To Margaret, Andrew, Peter and families.
Please accept my sympathy on Fern´s passing. She was a much respected work colleague at Public Trust. Although I was based in the South Island in latter years there were many occasions when we had contact on work and social matters. Fern was a special lady and I have fond memories.
Regards

To Margaret,Andrew & Peter & families
I am so sorry to hear of Ferns passing & I wish to pass on my heartfelt sympathy.
Fern & I worked together at The Public Trust for many years.
She & I both worked there before we had our families & then both returned again later on in life.
Both our husbands worked together at AMP & we all enjoyed our lives living in Tawa
When retirement came along who would have known we would end up living in the same Paradise of Papamoa & Tauranga.
I will miss our frequent chats about old times & Ferns wonderful sense of humour.
RIP Fern

I met Fern (and then David) when she and my late husband, John Wood, worked at Public Trust. I guess this was 20 years ago ... in typical Fern fashion we maintained contact when they moved to Papamoa and enjoyed their company in Taupo over the years and in 2019, John, Fern and myself did a river cruise together in Europe - such fun! Fern was a dear friend to us both, always kind, always fun, always pragmatic and always up to a good chat (goss?!) On the phone or email. My sincere condolences to her family she loved you all so much. She was a very dear friend to me.

To Margaret, Andrew & Peter and your families.
So sorry to read of Fern's passing, our condolences to you all.
Up until Fern and David moved to Papamoa from Tawa, we had a lot of close contact with your parents. Since then, the contact has not been so frequent but we continued to be in touch from time to time. Our long friendship has continued for over 60+ years. We had a lot of great fun.
Your Father David was for many years one of the organisers of the Xmas function for retired AMP staff. Your Mum Fern continued to attend this important function up until 2017 which was the last one ever held for this retired group. A long trip from Papamoa to Wellington after your Dad David died in 2013 but Fern still made the annual trip.
To honour Fern's attendance devotion she was given the honour of cutting the very last Xmas cake in 2017 which was the last year of these Xmas functions.
We have attached photos of Fern at this 2017 Xmas function.
Goodbye Fern and thanks for your long friendship and the joy and fun you gave to us and so many other people.
Love from Graham & Beryl Savell
