Bernard BIRD Obituary
Peacefully at his home in Feilding surrounded by his loving family on Friday, 19th May 2023, aged 81 years. Dearly loved husband of Ann and loved father and father in law of Michael and Kelly, Carmel and George, Nicola and Hamish, Luke and Lyndal. A much loved grandad of Lourissa, Josh, James, Heidi, Sam, Holly. Ethan, Bella, Jacob, and Cayden and great-grandfather of Amber, and Fraser. All messages to 92 Mount Taylor Drive, RD 5, Feilding, 4775. In lieu of flowers donations to Arohanui Hospice would be appreciated and may be left in the Church foyer.

Requiem Mass for Bernard to be celebrated in St Mary's Catholic Church, Huia Street, Taihape, on Wednesday 24 May 2023 at 1pm, followed by interment in the Taihape Cemetery. A live stream of Bernards funeral service will be able to be viewed at https://evt.live/bernard-birdBennetts Taihape

It felt like an earthquake, and I'm still feeling the shock waves, since I learned of Bernards' passing. Deepest sympathy to Ann, Michael/Kelly, Carmel/George, Nicola/Hamish, Luke/Lyndal, extended Bird family & friends. Bernard was a gentleman, dedicated husband and great family man. I will miss his e-mails with all the family news & achievements of his grandchildren. He was so proud of you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you today, I'll be there in spirit. Mass will be celebrated here for Bernard, and prayers to ease your loss. May his gentle soul rest in Peace. His friendship and kindness will never be forgotten.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Bernard´s death. Have some great memories of a school trip (Lukes last year at St Jos) to Te Papa / it was a memorable few days! And then working with Bernard and Ann on St Jos school reunion / think we all enjoyed that time!
Am sorry we can´t make it to the service but thinking of you all at this time. RIP Bernard
