Bibiana Maria:

Bibi passed away peacefully on Friday 27th May in her 95th year at the Kaikoura Hospital. Loved wife of the late Bill Mendelssohn and Lloyd Jarvie. Last of her generation, daughter of the late Grace & William Butler. She is remembered with love by her daughters Bonnie, Juliana, Sue and her wider family Graeme, Murray, Andrew & Katrina, Emma, Lisa & Gerald, Michael & Jennie, Mark & Kelly. A much loved Nan to great-grandchildren Alia, Connor, Riley, Mackenzie, Flynn, Talia & Sebastian & great-great-aunt to Hemi. Mum lived in Wellington, Paihia, Waikanae, Auckland & finally Kaikura. She touched many lives and we remember her smile, laugh and her wonderful gardening skills. A private cremation has been held in Rangiora. A memorial celebration will be held later this year in Days Bay, Bibi's best place in the world. Messages to 20 Hastings Street, Kaikura 7300.

Bibi was a kind and wise bridge partner when I was still a novice in the game. We also had many an interesting conversation about life, faith, memories and the story behind her unique name.
My sincere sympathy to her family. May she be at peace.
