Sally Hariata (née Reweti):
Passed peacefully on June 5, 2022, in Christchurch. Beloved wife of William John McKean, and cherished mother of Tess and Gerald, Craig and Nancy, Ange and Mark, Jo and Tim, Royce and Sue, Missy and Thor. Adored Nan of Max, Justin, Marama, Marena, Joseph, Harry, Charles, Evie, Archie, Freddie, Gussie, Abby, Tessy and Noa, Joziah, Destiny, Izack, Diamond, Kaimani, Zenice, Kenny, Cartel. Messages may be addressed to 'The McKean Whānau', C/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8015. In lieu of flowers donations in Sally's memory would be gratefully received directly to Full Bellies 01-0798-0851380-00 A service to celebrate Sally's life will be held at John Rhind Chapel, entrance from London and Whitmore Streets, Christchurch, at 10.00am, Tomorrow (Friday), before we return her to Hairini Marae, Tauranga, where the tangihanga begins at 9.00am on Saturday, June 11, with a Sunday morning service at 10.00am, followed by burial at Te Pahau Cemetery. Nau mai, haere mai ki te tuku i to rau aroha at Royce and Sue's home, 117 Panorama Road, Clifton Hill, Christchurch, This Day (Thursday), from 1.00pm - 5.00pm.

Sally was the best neighbour and friend. We had the privilege of being loved, taught and cared for by her like we were her own.
We will remember her beautiful smile, positivity, delicious cooking and the impact she had on our whanau.
Our tamariki were spoilt by Sally and Bill, not just with sweet treats but with her knowledge of te reo and whakapapa, love and care.
Sally and Bill showed us true love and care, especially the love and care they have for each other and others around them.
We will always be grateful for them.
Sorry we were unable to make it today to say our goodbyes as we are all mauiui. Just know we are all thinking of you, Bill and your beautiful whanau.

To Bill and family. I knew Sally when working at Lincoln University. To this day I still remember her expertise (well perhaps not quite - set the fire alarm off) with making toast in Hudson Hall. Seriously, she was a lovely lady and I feel privileged to have worked with her. May she rest in peace.
