Joyce HAMILTON Obituary

I was sad to learn of Joy´s passing. She and I were work colleagues for several years, both holding the same positions, she in Palmerston North and me in Christchurch. We had an excellent working relationship.

I vividly remember meeting Joy in the Burwood Spinal Unit shortly after her accident. She was surprisingly positive in spite of having very limited movement and facing up to the challenges as she contemplated getting back to her new "normal" life. Over the following months I watched her courage and determination as she set about her rehabilitation. Her ambition was to walk out of the hospital and she went very close to doing this. Eventually she transitioned back to work.

In recent years we both had the pleasure of having grandchildren and I know that she doted on them and they on her.

My sympathies to Brian and their boys. Rest in Peace, Joy.

So sorry to hear this sad news our thoughts are with you all. We remember Joy from Milson School, she was such a lovely happy positive person.

We are both thinking of you Brian in your time of sadness, Joy was a wonderful and thoughtful person and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
