Peter BEVERIDGE Obituary

BEVERIDGE, Peter. 7 October 1955 - 29 March 2026 Born at Thames Hospital and passed peacefully at Thames Hospital, Peter was the cherished eldest son of Bill and Joan Beveridge (both deceased). Much- loved big brother to Jennifer, Elizabeth and Angela (deceased), and David. Adored husband of Vicki, and a proud and loving Dad to Clara and father-in-law to Dita. Born in Thames, Pete moved to West Auckland at just six months old and grew up in the Waitākere Ranges, where he spent his early years before retiring to Waihi. He had a gift for making people laugh - often rolling their eyes before winning them over with his cheeky grin and warm nature. To all who knew him, he was simply a "lovely fella." A celebration of Pete's life will be held at 12pm on Sunday, 5 April 2026 at the Waihi RSA. In lieu of flowers we would appreciate donations to be made to St John.

I met Pete many years ago at Waikaraka Park. I hadn't seen him until I ended up working at HEB, same place Pete worked. We reconnected our friendship, and he introduced me to Vicki I followed their journey living on a canal boat and then watched them transform their property in Waihi.
My sincere condolences to Vicki and family. RiP Pete xx

Ah Pete, we have had many a good laugh over the years, from rescuing Clara from her fall in the pool (it was empty) to challenging our girls through shared camping experiences. Quiz nights were so much fun with hilarity and hi-jinks all round. We are so grateful for all the shared experiences and you will be greatly missed, but always remembered with love - Ross and Jane

I met Pete on line when he and Vicki were planning their narrowboat adventure in U.K. fortunate to meet them on their travels. And have kept in touch, almost daily, on line in the intervening years.

Pete was always asking when I was going to make the trip to New Zealand. Thankfully I was able to do that in February staying at Queen´s Head and enjoying their kindness and hospitality and a much looked forward to curry at Kumar´s.

I am so grateful I got to make that trip, it knowing by now it would be too late. From the other side of the world I will miss his friendship.
