Carolyn Walters Obituary

Carolyn M. Walters, 79, of Freedom Twp., OH, went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, September 5, 2025. She was born October 25, 1945, in Painesville, OH, to the late Myrle and Audrey (nee Yates) Griffin.
She was married to the love her life, Don, for over 60 years. Carolyn and Don worked hard to raise their three children while building a nice home and a good life for them all. She was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, which gave constant grief to her family. Carolyn and Don loved watching the Cleveland Indians games together. She had a fondness for the Hallmark channel, especially if they were playing Christmas movies, My Lottery Dream Home, and any veterinarian shows. Carolyn enjoyed fishing, reading, bowling, playing cards, and taking long drives with Don, with or without a destination in mind. She adored her family and pets and had a generous soul when it came to giving help. Carolyn didn't always have the easiest life, but she lived it to the fullest; having her family around for her get-togethers on weekends and holidays brought her to utmost joy.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her children, Kenneth (Roseanna) Walters, Linda (Sonny) Rumsey, and Keith Walters; grandchildren, Samantha Rumsey, Mariah Walters, and Taylor Walters; great grandchildren, Jaydon, Allie, Jaxson, Evie, and Jeffrey; siblings; Marilyn, Audrey "Ginny", Carmen, Joyce, Connie, David, and Earl, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; dear husband, Donald Walters; siblings, Charles, Stephanie, Jackie, Wayne, Louise, and her son-in-law, Brian Johnson.
Carolyn will be privately laid to rest in Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Twp., OH. Care for Carolyn was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremations Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to their local animal shelter, in Carolyn's name, to honor her generosity and care for animals. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of CAROLYN M. WALTERS, please visit our Tree Store.
