On July 1 2023, unexpectedly at Dunedin Hospital surrounded by her family. Dearly loved wife of Roy. Beloved daughter of the late Cyril and Alwin Smith. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Shelly-Rae (Dunedin), Aaron and Tania (Rotorua), Adrian and Rebeca (Tapanui), also loved grandmother of Nicola and Heath (Dunedin), Zachary, Rhys and Alyssa (Rotorua), Josie and Rylie (Tapanui). Cherish sister and sister-in-law of Gaynor Gordon and the late Jeffrey Smith and Ann Hurry. A service to celebrate Janice's life will be held in Gillions Chapel, 407 Hillside Road, on Friday 7 July at 10am followed by private cremations. The service will be live streamed on https://www.gillions.co.nz/kiwi-channel Grateful thanks to St Johns and the staff at the Dunedin Hospital ED department for their tireless care for Janice.
