Quinn McINTYRE Obituary
The McIntyre, Hailes, Butcher and McCallum families would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of kindness and support we received following Quinn's passing. We were deeply humbled by the numerous visits, hugs, meals, flowers and messages of condolence. To our wonderful family and friends who surrounded us with love and support and continue to be there for us, especially on the tough days, your presence and those comforting hugs meant the world to us and your phone calls and visits continue to help us through this difficult time. We are also grateful to the communities of Northern Southland Hawea Flat/Wanaka and Winton for your support, both during this period and continuing afterward. Your care has been a great comfort to us. To the trotting community from near and far, a huge thanks for your countless acts of kindness. They have meant a great deal to us, thank you. To all those people who travelled great distances to be with us, and to the more than one thousand attendees of Quinn's funeral, your presence was a beautiful tribute to a remarkable man. To those who could not attend in person but watched online, your virtual presence was overwhelming and deeply appreciated. A special thanks to those that took part in Quinn's service, sharing memories, stories and music. A heartfelt thank you to Quinn's great friend Fraser Wilson for conducting the proceedings, Quinn would have been very humbled by your contributions and, as the ultimate showman, would have enjoyed his moment in the spotlight. Our thanks also go to Angus McIntyre for playing the bagpipes and to SBHS for performing the haka as Quinn left us. The family would like to acknowledge Detective Sergeant John Kean from the NZ Police for his sensitivity and compassion towards Quinn and his family. To Sharron and her team at Macdonald and Weston, your exceptional efforts in helping us honour Quinn and provide a memorable celebration of his life are deeply appreciated. We thank you sincerely. Quinn was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, a respected businessman, and a mentor to many.
