Robert CHECKETTS Obituary
Passed peacefully at Southland Hospital on Saturday, September 20, 2025, aged 81 years. Loved husband of Valda. Loved father and father-in-law of Geoffrey and Rosemary, Phillip and Alexis, Christopher and Paula. Loved grandfather of his 11 grandchildren. At Neville's request a private ceremony will be held. Thank you to Southland Hospice, Invercargill District Nurses, St John Ambulance, and Southland Hospital for their helpfulness, concern and kindness during Neville's illness. Sincere condolences to Valda and you family, Neville was the wizard of electronics having known him for 60 years in NZART and his volunteer work in communications for search and rescue and fire police were among his many talents of dedicated service over the years.
His big smile as he completed a job on a 2way radio to prefection ,so it worked over 50kms not 50meters for me.
Looking back in time where have all years gone so quickly
So much progress in the electronic world from 1965 to 2025 and Neville's skill will leave a big void to be filled,
