Kelvin REED Obituary

After a long illness, at home, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, aged 85 years. Dearly loved husband of Gloria, loved father and father-in-law of Chris and Maelee, Trevor, Greg and Annie (dec), Gareth and Emma, Melissa and Neils Smithson, Gregory and Ireen; hardcase and cherished Popa of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loved son of Charlie and Vera (both dec), brother and brother-in-law of Dulcie, Tom (dec), Ian and Lynn, Eileen, Neil and Gail, and Nola; and loved Uncle of all his nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Kelvin will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Ardwick Street, Gore, on Monday, March 2, at 11.00am, followed by the interment at Balfour Cemetery. Family warmly invite you to join them thereafter at the Balfour Hall for light refreshments. Livestream link available at www.southernfunerals.co.nz. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Southland, and Lumsden St John. The Reed family warmly thank Access caregivers, Hospice Southland, Ameila, District Nurses, Lumsden Medical Centre, Dr Matthew Stokes, and Lumsden St John, for all their care and support shown to Kelvin in later years. Kelvin was my AB technician many years ago at my Auroa stud farm Allan Glen Jerseys.He was a good man on the job having a high conception rate which was most satisfying.My condolences to the family in your loss.
