Eldest daughter of George and Bertha James (deceased) and sister of Allison Mathews (Auckland), Allan James (deceased), Peter James (Canberra) and Susan (Sue) Stringer (deceased). In lieu of flowers - donations to St John Ambulance Service. As per her wishes a private family service has been held.

On behalf of her friends at Loyal Egmont Lodge of Manchester Unity Friendly Society, we will miss Muriel. Memories of her sitting quietly knitting in the back of our meetings and volunteering whenever needed. Mrs Claus at our Christmas Lunches. I will also treasure the little knitted items she made for our boys over recent years. Rebecca Ameriks.
