In memory of a much loved husband, father, father-in-law, grandad and son who tragically and too soon left us suddenly one year ago.
You never said I'm leaving.
You never said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it and only God knew why.
A million times we've needed you.
A million times we've cried.
If love could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.
In our hearts, you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you, the day God took you home.
Loved always and forever.

It is heartwarming to think that the charming, little 2nd-cousin whom I knew as a schoolboy maintained a lifetime innocence that matured into devotion, loyalty and so much love.
Surely, a treasurable memory for many and an example for us all?
