Wayne TONKS Obituary

To Waynes family and to all of Stratford who knew Wayne I send sincere condolences. Wayne quite often caught the Connector Bus. He was a real pleasant bloke and his gentle mannerisms always came across with genuine care. Waynes absence has been felt and noticed and the sad news of his passing only came two days ago. Rest in Peace Wayne.

Wayne was well known locally for making people smile. He'd always offer kind words and go the extra mile. He'd greet you with G'day cobber, good man or salt of the earth. He had a special mission from the time of his birth. He'd greet you with how are you? and really liked to know. He left you with a sense of peace and a true happy glow. His mission... to bring others joy and brighten up their day. His handshakes they were from the heart, and famous in Broadway. So thankyou Wayne for making Stratford a much brighter place. You've earnt your rest, and shown us how to really run our race. To be thankful for every day and bring joy, peace and love. I know you'll be looking in on your family and friends from up above. REST IN PEACE

It was a shock to hear of Wayne's passing as we only just saw him the day before. He always had time to stop and talk weather it was in the library or in the street. He always had a smile and a kind word to say. He was a great man and sadly missed especially his great smile.

Wayne's dad was my parents (Syd and Marj Stanley) best man at their wedding. I grew up knowing Wayne, and a kinder person I never met. He was so kind to my mum after dad died. Didn't hear until too late to attend service. He will be missed. Always ready for a chat and a smile.

We shall miss the cheerful greeting of "hello neighbour" as he biked past, Bert and Ruth George.

Was shocked to see that Wayne had unexpectedly passed away. He always had a cheeky few words to say when biking past my place. Always said Hello with a big smile on his face.

So sad to read of waynes sudden passing .I had the pleasure of working with him at serco.one of his jobs was to empty the rubbish bins between the roundabouts.he kept the footpaths clean.or he would be working in drains or at the poo ponds no matter what he still had a smile on his face.one of the rare ones its sad not people are like him.rest in peace wayne.thanks for the memories
