Donald Simmon Obituary

Donald Evan Simmon, born August 28, 1951, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 74.

He was the beloved son of the late Evan Arthur Simmon and the late Reathel Marie Shields (Simmon).

Don is survived by his loving sister, Sharon M. Sheppard (Bill); his brother, Jackie E. Simmon, preceded him in death.

He was a devoted father to his children: Don Simmon (Jamie), Kevin Simmon (Felicia), and Tiffany Wagner (Chris).

Don cherished his role as grandfather to six grandchildren and great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were dear to him.

A loving family man, Don found great joy in his relationships with his children, grandchildren, and broader family circle. He loved following and cheering on their sports endeavors. His warmth, guidance, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

May Donald Evan Simmon rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the family who went before him and watching over those he leaves behind.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). Private burial for the family will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
