When I was beginning my career in the bus industry, Eric was one of the best guides anyone could wish for. His knowledge and character made a daunting role not only manageable, but very rewarding. We developed a friendship based on a love for rail and bus transport, vintage cars and model trains. I thank him for all the smiles, laughs and chats. Eric enriched my life. He will be remembered as a true gent, and a valued colleague, by many people who worked with him over the decades. I send my condolences to his family and friends.

Eric was one of my first trainers at Red Bus. He had a wicked dry sense of humour and patience in abundance!! He was one of life's true gentlemen. Rest easy Eric, you will be truly missed.

It was 1965 when I first met Eric at Franz Josef....Road Service driver extra-ordinaire and a bright light in the staff quarters. When he joined forces with Pam my husband Stephen and I had many fun trips together with them....card playing till 3am....following trains, life size and model, dinners together. Never will I forget their warm and generous welcome to their home in our difficult time after our fire. We will always treasure their friendship and love. Eric, will always think of you when I have a pie! Thanks for many happy years of a special friendship. RIP
