Gordon FOSTER Obituary

Peacefully at Hospice S.C. surrounded by his family, on August 23, 2025, aged 82. Loved husband of the late Rio, much loved dad and father-in-law of Philip and Anna, Kerry, Nevin and Angie, Rowena and Dave, adored granddad of Alma, and Edward; Billy, and Johnny; Lauren, Emily, Ethan, and Charlotte; Jaxson, and Indie, and great-granddad to Kyro. A service for Gordon will be held at the Wilson Street Baptist Church, Timaru, on Saturday, August 30, at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice S.C. would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages to the Foster family, C/- PO Box 772, Timaru 7940.

Sad to see Gordon's passing, A friend and fellow Rotarian (The Rotary club of Timaru). Gordon was an effective member of the club for 28 years. A very good rower and was almost in the Rowing 8 at Mexico in 1968! Rest in peace Gordon.

So sorry to see Gordon has passed. Knew him before he came to Timaru and in more recent times saw him only occasionally but he always made the meeting important. A great guy.

Fond Memories of Gordon at the North End Rowing Club over many years. Gordon was a very accomplished Rower and agreat supporter beyond his rowing career. Rest in Pease
