Helen was my anchor to New Zealand. Although now an American Citizen, she and I had grand times comparing my South African roots to her New Zealand. Effervescent, always delighted to chat, she brightened days here when I could see a lot of snow with her weather report of sunny Canterbury. After so many decades of speaking with her, I feel my phone has an empty spot. As to my heart and mind? Some people will leave an empty spot forever and Helen was certainly able to do that for me. She will always be around me as the best of Angels are.
