I was deeply saddened to hear of Jack's passing.
I will always remember him as a vibrant, happy, man with a smile that could light up a room. Who could resist the twinkle in his eyes? For a period of time, he was my brother-in-law and was always very kind and caring towards me.
I remember when he tried to explain cricket to my father. Such a laugh we all had. When my father died, Jack sent me a very thoughtful and sympathetic letter. It meant so much to me. I still have it.
Jack's light touched so many people during his lifetime. He will be sorely missed.

I first worked with Jack at Prince Henry's Hospital in biomedical engineering many years ago. Jack had a wonderful personality and was entertaining and enthusiastic in all that he did. He was a great engineer and an excellent mentor in my first proper job and helped to launch the careers of many others. I was fortunate to continue my association with Jack through other roles over the years. So very saddened to learn of Jack's sudden passing. Such a decent and kind man. My sincere condolences to Jack's family and friends.

Jack was a foundation member of the Card Sharks' quasi-monthly Friday night sessions more than 30 years ago, when he (and most or all of us) lived in Richmond, Melbourne. He was lively, witty and friendly, and it's sad to lose him even though our contact has been occasional since he moved back to his homeland. My condolences to his family.

I remember fondly the time I spent sharing a house with Jack 8 years ago while doing a project in Melbourne. The last time I had seen Jack was when Tim was 3 months old. It was a great year meeting the extended family when Tim got married. And I shared many a laugh with Jack. He was a lovely man. Sending hugs and prayers to all the family.

On behalf of all the members of our Richmond `Cardsharks Club´, we are very saddened to hear that our eldest member Jack has decided to `cash in his chips´! We thoroughly enjoyed so many Friday nights where Jack would entertain us with his anecdotes, wit and quirky humour. Who will forget ever forget Christmas in July at Mulberry St singing carols in the backyard at 2am, primed with 12-year old Dimple Scotch, incurring Isobel´s wrath! Goodbye dear Jack - you will always be a card carrying member of our club. John, Tony, Malcolm, Richard, Graham, Steve, Ian and Michael.

Over the years I have had many adventures with Jack and we got up to a lot of innocent mischief. From the late 1970's we both worked at Prince Henry's Hospital in Melbourne later to become Monash Medical Centre. Jack in Biomedical, me in nuts and bolts Engineering. We were both engaged on the Hospital Support Services project in Peninsula Malaysia from 1993 to 1997 with Radicare, working with Jin lor and Alan Coleman on support services for 33 Hospitals and 4 Institutions in Penninsula Malaysia with a very large workforce. Jin, Jack and I learnt to scuba dive on the islands around Malaysia in our recreation time on weekends and holidays. Later on Jack and I both worked on the Sarawak International Medical Centre project in Kuching Sarawak East Malaysia (Borneo) from 2004 to 2006 and many a laugh was shared. This Hospital SIMC later became the National Heart Institute for Sarawak. Along with James Handfield Jones and many others we explored the Jungles of Sarawak and many of the delicacies. So much fun and Jack was always good for a laugh and innocent mischief. I will miss you my very dear friend and brother Jack. Condolences to Jack's daughter Lisa, Son Tim, brother Peter, Isobel, Patsy, family and many friends. May you rest in peace Jack, until we meet again my very dear friend. https://pbase.com/junglegeorge/valejackdavie25082023

My sincerest condolences for you at this time.
Jack was a wonderful friend and mentor to me over many years in both Australia and Malaysia. I always remember his words to me as a fresh graduate biomedical engineer when I was full of imposter syndrome: you have done the hard work, you walk like a biomedical engineer, you talk like a biomedical engineer, you act like a biomedical engineer, so you are a biomedical engineer...and off I went. I am grateful for his generosity with both his time and for the many laughs we shared.
