I worked with Jase at The Moving Company in Christchurch...Jason was a very well spoken, kind hearted man who meant nothing but good-will. I remember the first time he had shown me his Art, i was blown away by the accuracy of his self potraits. Made me think my drawings were rubbish compared to his haha.

Jase loved his music but us work boys couldnt stand to let him play his music on the speaker because it was always some type of Opera music hahaha. But whenever he had the chance to play his music he always danced to it will all his SOUL and never missed a beat. He felt every beat of the song through his body

He always had his camera out filming the work bros on his phone, always getting right up in our faces lol but realising now he was capturing moments that we will never forget, he was like a camera with legs haha.

Thinking back on all these memories made me realise that life is too short, life taken away so suddenly with no warning. But im glad that Jase always took videos of the team because for once we got to see what he saw. Just a happy work crew and he was part of that. Jase will forever be missed and cherished. He will forever be part of THE MOVING COMPANY.

I've written his name on my tape gun in memory of him. Love you Jase and may you Rest In Peace

My sincerest condolences to Jason´s family, I can´t imagine how upsetting this must be for you all.
To me I will always remember Jason as a very talented artist in every sense of the word. He had an incredible eye for detail, for the quiet beauty most of us pass by. Whether behind a camera or sketching, he always seemed to notice the world in ways that made it more intriguing. Always creating a different perspective, detailed drawings full of fantasy and super intriguing. I always enjoyed seeing his imagination and interpretation through his artwork.
Gosh he loved Bob Dylan didn´t he, and always seemed to have a lyric or a Ricky Gervais quote for the moment. He loved laughter, and he had a gift for lifting the mood of a room., he just wanted everyone to have good time. I remember Jason being such a great record keeper always recording the life around him, even the small everyday moments, that become so treasured in future years when you look back on them. I thought he captured objects and moments he loved as a fond memory to hold them safe.
I also remember him as someone who welcomed the peace and joy he found in nature, in the hills and mountains among the trees and flowers, it seemed to inspire his art and photography.
I saw in Jason a perspective that finds beauty that others overlooked or were just too busy to see. To me that was his gift.

"If you were to ask me to name three geniuses, I probably wouldn´t say Einstein, Newton you know. I´d go Milligan, Cleese, Everett. Sessions." Ricky Gervais

With love and respect, an old friend, workmate and fellow photographer who also sees the world through a different lens x
