Peter GIBSON Obituary
On October 26, 2023, after a short illness, aged 79 years. Dearly loved husband of Margaret and proud father and father-in-law of Simon and Tomoyo; Rachel and Tony. Much loved grandfather of Cassandra, Lucy, and Maisie. Dad would also want us to acknowledge his love for our wider family including Rowan, Chris and Shiro; and Tyler, Elliott and Huxley. Special thanks to the staff at Christchurch Hospital who cared for Dad during his short time there. We have greatly appreciated all the support and kind messages from our friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cats Protection League would be appreciated and may be made at the service. Messages may be addressed to the family of the late Peter Gibson, c/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042. The Funeral Service for Peter will be held at the Hope Chapel, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, on November 3 at 1.30pm.

Special Condolences Margaret, Rachel & Simon, and families for the very sad sudden loss of Peter. He was a special friend from years ago who amongst other things played a leading role in the initial actions that led to the establishment of the Weka Pass Railway, and then many years of active help to develop and maintain this, including many hours working on restoring carriages, as part of a key core group of volunteers. Thanks, Peter!
