Rest in peace Wayne. You were a good man who led the way for the New Zealand Outdoor industry in so many different ways over the years. You and your team at Southern Approach were absolute professionals to deal with over many years.
Myself and our team at Outside Sports offer our deepest sympathies to your family and friends for their loss.

I was shocked to hear of Wayne's illness and death. Last time I saw him he was doing a sausage sizzle in front of a big box retail store to raise funds for his son's scout group (or something along those line.). That was a few years ago now.

One thing I will always remember about about Wayne is the culinary tip that he made in passing after a caving trip. He had said "As long as the meal has all the right colours it will taste good" or such like.

And he is right.

My sympathies go to all of his other friends and his whanau .

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Wayne. I flatted in three flats with him - happy times. He was a great guy, a loyal and empathetic friend and will be sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Wayne. I had the privilege of working for Wayne for ten years and knew his as a truly lovely human being. He created a workplace that felt like home, always valuing people and relationships.

I pray for peace on his journey and strength for his family and everyone whose life he brightened with his infectious smile.

Rest in peace Wayne!
