It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Huw after a brief but fierce fight with illness. He was the most wonderful father, husband, brother, son, uncle and friend. A celebration to honour Huw's life will be held at Lychgate Funerals, Tuesday, 20th January 2026, at 1.00pm. Messages to the family can also be sent c/- Lychgate Funerals, 306 Willis Street, Te Aro, Wellington 6011.

I haven't seen Huw in a very long time, but I talked about him with enormous affection to my own children, promising myself that one day, I would go to New Zealand and catch up with him. I'll miss knowing that glorious bugger is somewhere else on the planet making mischief. He was the very best of humans.

Though we only got knew Huw recently, his easy going nature, warmth, and wicked humor left a lasting impression. Losing him so suddenly feels profoundly unfair. Glad to have known him, gutted to say goodbye so soon. -Molly and Jim
