Ian REID Obituary

Peacefully at Summerset on the Landing on Monday 17 November 2025, aged 82 years. Loved husband of Claire (dec), Dad to Michael & Natasha, Suzanne & Troy and Granddad to Aria, Ethan, Anna, Katie and Caden. A celebration of Ian's life will be held on Saturday 22 November at 11.00am in Gee and Hickton's Guardian Chapel Auty Lane, Porirua. In lieu of flowers please donate to Wellington Free Ambulance who have been amazing over the last few years of Ian's life.

In professional life Ian Reid was a man with a heightened sense of fairness and honest integrity and applied these attributed to whatever he was doing. This took courage as it was often not the least resistance course of action.
On a personal front Ian showed acts of kindness and support to a large number of people over the years. Myself, I suspect, being one of them. He sought no recognition, but kept it quiet.
Ian´s family can take comfort that Ian was held in the highest regard by those that had the privilege of knowing him. He was a great human being.
