I write to Ken´s family on behalf of my beloved husband Jerome Ellis. Ken was a very special friend of Jerome´s, and they went well back to being work colleagues in Indonesia to mates. He was a true friend of our family, and his frequent visits and ongoing friendship continued through Jerome´s last days of life.Georgie and I thought Ken was a man of integrity and helped us following Jerome´s death with his stories, and instalments of their international life and friendship. I´m sorry to hear of Ken´s passing. He was a good man. Sincerely, Di Austin and Georgie Welch

Sincerest condolences to Ken's family. A very sad loss. Over the years Ken was a work colleague of mine. In. addition to his personal qualities and his outreaching friendship, Ken had an impressive intellect and analytical capacity, and was a significant contributor to his employers over the years: Department of Trade and Industry, and NZ agriculture, through the Dairy Board, and then Fonterra. When I last visited Ken he was seriously ill, but still upbeat and positive about his life. A lovely and impressive man.

We're saddened to hear of Ken's death. Judy and I have crossed paths with him a number of times in the past few years and much enjoyed our time together reminiscing about the Geard family and its history.
He had a lot of questions about our Tasmanian past as we spent 2 weeks there in 2024 and visited the old haunts of the family.
Kade and Wayan, our deepest sympathy. We're sorry we're unable to be with you.

Dear Kade and Wayan, We are thinking of you at this sad time. In the past 5 or so years we have reconnected and have great times and memories with your Dad. He visited us several times in Whangarei and we caught up on our childhood memories and also our genealogy. Great times. Sadly I cannot come to the funeral and meet you. Kind Regards, Joan and Marilyn.
