Maurice BECKETT Obituary

Mid passed away peacefully in his sleep on 11 February 2026 at Bupa Whitby. Cherished father of Derek and Laurence, life time companion of their mother Cushla, loved brother of Helen, and grandfather to 4 grandchildren. A service to celebrate Mid's life will be held in Gee & Hickton's Guardian Chapel, 6 Norrie Street, Porirua, on 21 February 2026 at 2.00pm.

We will never forget your endless anecdotes and ability to ensure there was never a dull moment while you were around!

My sincere condolences to all the family
I have just learned of Mids passing .( I don´t live in NZ now, and have lost touch with extended family )
Mid was quite a character , as a younger cousin, I will cherish all the funny things he did .
My Dad Jim, was Dolly´s younger brother.
Love to all the family

Well remembered when he had the dive shop in paraparaumu beach
He really was a legend and had the most fantastic smile and was quick to greet you
Rest in peace and enjoy the unlimited visibility up there
