Richard COUTTS Obituary

We wish to share the sad passing of Richard Nicolson Coutts, aged 82 on the 6th January 2026. He bravely fought through the effects of Mesothelioma and passed away quietly early hours. He is the fifth son of the late Bannatyne and Sylvia Coutts (nee Clark). Richard was the devoted husband of the late Jennifer Coutts (nee Edwards). Treasured Dad and father-in-law to Norm and Fay, Sharon and Jason. Loved Grandad and Grandpa to Savannah, Carlos, Sylvia and Rosie. Great-Grandad and "Ga-ga" to Luca and Lila. Fitter and dedicated worker at the Hutt Railway Workshops, Group 16, for 53 years. His sense of humour will be greatly missed! Avid reader of Sci-fi books and sweet tooth for tasty treats! We wish to thank Shona McFarlane Retirement Village/Hospital wing for welcoming and caring for Richard, and Te Omanga Hospice staff for their earlier care and support offered. Big thanks to Haven Falls Funeral Home Wellington for their professionalism and care for Richard. A private cremation has been held as per his wishes.
