Joan Richman Obituary

Joan H. Richman (nee Sunderman), passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2026, in Chesterfield, MO. Wife of the late Peter Richman, Joan was born in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Robinson) Sunderman. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Leykam Barbieri and her granddaughter Ashley Barbieri, as well as her brother William (Susan) Sunderman, and her nieces Sarah Sunderman (Mark Bell) and Katherine Mihok (Chris), great nieces and nephew, and many longtime friends. Joan was a proud alumna of Incarnate Word Academy.

Joan and Peter spent many happy years in Sarasota, FL, after closing their successful businesses throughout southeastern Missouri, and leaving their longtime home at Lake of the Ozarks.

A breast cancer survivor, Joan was a gifted gardener and needlepoint artisan, and friend to cocker spaniels everywhere.

The family would like to thank Joan’s caregivers Colleen, Jamie, and Jean, and BJC hospice nurse Tisha, and Tracey.

A funeral mass will be held at Church of the Annunziata, 9305 Clayton Road, 63124, on Tuesday, January 20, at 11:00 AM. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery will be private. Arrangements by Collier's Funeral Home.
