Troy Welker Obituary

Troy Allen Welker July 19, 1970 – April 27, 2025
Troy Allen Welker, 54, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on April 27, 2025.
Born on July 19, 1970, in Peoria, Illinois, Troy spent his formative years in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1989. He then studied at Western State College in Colorado and later at Kennesaw State College in Georgia, setting the foundation for a life dedicated to public service, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep commitment to his community.
Troy's career in law enforcement began in 1991 after graduating from the Police Academy. Over the next three decades, he served with honor and integrity at several agencies, including the City of Kingston Police Department, Georgia Regional Hospital Police Force, Fulton County Sheriff's Reserve Unit, City of Hiram Police Department, and City of Austell Police Department. His commitment to safety, justice, and the public good remained at the forefront of his career.
In addition to his service in uniform, Troy was a dynamic entrepreneur. He co-founded Imperial Pacific Trading, LLC, and later sold one of the divisions, IPT Sink Company, in 2021 to Elkay Plumbing Fixtures, a publicly traded company. He also had a real estate management business and held significant real estate holdings in Florida and Georgia.
Troy was deeply devoted to his community. He volunteered with the Anna Crawford Children's Center and the Holiday Lights of Hope in Woodstock, GA. His civic engagement also extended into the political arena, where he was an active member of both the local and national Republican Party. A proud supporter of conservative values, Troy was also a huge supporter of Governor Brian Kemp's re-election campaign.
On March 15, 2003, Troy married Ling Liu Welker. Together, they raised their son, Reagan Wyatt Welker, who was born in December 2015 and was the joy of Troy's life.
Troy is survived by his wife, Ling Liu Welker; his son, Reagan Wyatt Welker; his mother, Patricia Welker; his brothers, Jeffrey Welker and Scott Welker-Reyes; and his sister, Jessica Welker. He is also remembered by his extensive extended family and many friends whose lives he touched deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away in January 2023.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Savior of All Lutheran Church. A visitation will take place at the church immediately prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, located at 790 Indian Mound Rd SE. A reception will be held afterward at Savior of All Lutheran Church to celebrate and remember Troy's remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Anna Crawford Children's Center or Holiday Lights of Hope-causes close to Troy's heart. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Troy, please visit our Tree Store.
