Raymond HOPA Obituary

Passed away peacefully on 21 February 2026 in the warmth of his home in Gordonton, with Nan Vera by his side. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Nanita and Wana, Jason and Carmen, and his late son, Aaron. The best Koro to all his moko. Koro will lie at Hukanui Marae, Gordonton, from 9.00am today, Monday 23 February. A service will be held at Hukanui Marae, Gordonton, tomorrow, Tuesday 24 February at 10.00am.

Nau mai, haere mai e te iwi.

I would like to pass on my condolences to Ray's whanau. I worked with Ray at CCR and enjoyed his company and his clear wit. He was a great family man - his family always come first. I will have fond memories of our chats and the coffee mornings our group used to share at Alfies (although Ray would always drink tea). RIP Ray, you were a good friend.
