Age 91, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 14, 2025, Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet, IL. Born in Homer Township to Henry and Neva (nee Deadmore) Winke. She was raised on her family farm in Homer Township with her 11 cherished siblings, six sisters and five brothers. June married Jack Hurley in 1961 where they had two sons, Dale and Gary Hurley and were married for 30 years before his passing in 1991. She later married Ken Kemp and was happily married for 23 years. She gained three loving stepchildren, Janet, Keith, and Sandy. She was devoted to her entire family, and cherished time spent with her sons, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. In her later years, she did a great deal of work with the Lockport VFW # 5788 and spent a few nights playing BINGO.
Preceded in death by husbands, Jack Hurley (1991), Ken Kemp (2017); her stepdaughter, Sandy Dries; her siblings, Henrietta Winke in infancy, Evelyn Marti, Cecilia Cooper – Newton, John and Robert Winke, Ruth Reiter, Edward, Donald and Richard Winke, and Marylou Holeman.
Survived by her sons, Dale (Kim) of Plainfield and Gary Hurley of Lockport, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; her stepdaughter, Janet (Guy) Martens of Lockport and stepson, Keith (Dena) Kemp of Salem, IL; and many loved family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in June's name would be greatly appreciated.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the O'Neil Funeral Home 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 10:00am. Interment following service at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet.
Visitation in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
