Gilly...a mentor! A powerful, curious, kind, cheeky and brilliant waahine...her voice and wisdom remain with those of us fortunate enough to have been in her orbit. My sense is that, above all else, she was most passionate about her family. My heart goes out to you xx.

When I think of Gillian she had a contagious smile. One look at her and I would find myself smiling. A beautiful ray of sunshine no matter many clouds

Dear Paul, Gemma,Briar,Lucas, Shirley & Brett.
Very sad news to hear your lovely bright shining star Gilly has lost her long courageous battle. She was always the bright light in so many others lives right from when she was a wee girl. We had so many fun times together , the Dales & Woods families when we were growing up.
I always remember our families going blackberry picking. We had long boards, which we would throw into the bushes and try to balance while picking blackberries. Needless to say we often fell into the bushes, lost our berries, and came out covered in scratches. But we all had a good laugh about it , and usually had berries to take home which was a bonus to the fun times together.
We (my mum Irene , myself & Alan)caught up with Gilly, Shirley, Joanne a few months ago and Gilly was adamant she was doing ok and was going to beat it. . We had a lovely lunch together in Piopio and then we all went back to mums for more chat.m, an awesome day reminiscing and lots of laughter.
Rest in peace beautiful Gilly
Big hugs to you all , Irene , Diane & families. xxx
