Barbara Barnes Obituary

Barbara Ann Barnes was born February 18, 1957, to the late Ollie Bell Barnes and  Lewis Mims in Mount Pleasant, Florida. Barbara Ann was affectionately given the name “BobAnn” by her mother Ollie Bell when she was a little girl, and that name followed her through her lifetime.
Barbara Ann was educated in the Gadsden County School System and was a member of the James A. Shanks Class of 1976.

Barbara Ann was raised in church and always loved the Lord even in her youth.  Some years later during adulthood, a friend invited her to her church, and she fell in love. She joined the congregation and remained a faithful member of Deliverance Temple Ministries where she
served as an Usher.  When she became ill, she could no longer attend services regularly, but she would often talk about her church family and express how deeply she missed them.

Barbara Ann worked many years in housekeeping and food service before being hired in state government. Upon being hired by the Florida Department of Children and Families/Florida State Hospital as a Unit Treatment and Resident Specialist (UTRS) she was a diligent employee until an illness forced her to retire. Barbara Ann loved her job and deeply admired her co-workers and made many friends.

Barbara Ann enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing, going out to eat, watching her favorite television shows and movies, eating crab legs, which was one of her favorite foods, spending time with family and her bestie Rose, and most of all she loved hanging out with her grandkids.
Her grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy. They meant the world to her, and they
equally adored her!

Barbara Ann is preceded in death by her Parents: Ollie Bell Barnes and Lewis Mims; her Son: Tony Terrell Williams; and her eldest Brother:  John Henry Bousie, Jr. (“Chin”).
