Caleb Wesley Alford, 27, of Mannsville, NY passed unexpectedly on November 13, 2025, from an undetected heart issue. His time with his family was way too short. Caleb shared a gift of happiness and joy with everyone he shared his life with.
Caleb was born in Rochester NY on May 02, 1998. He spent his early years next to his grandfather’s side working on the farm, referring to the duo as “Little Boss and Big Boss”. He moved to Saranac Lake at age 5 and attended Saranac Lake Elementary while his mother pursued a degree in Culinary Arts at Paul Smiths College. While in Saranac Lake he met many friends that were like his brothers. He began his love of sports there playing football, basketball, baseball and lacrosse for several years. He loved life in the Adirondacks and spoke of it often.
At age 12 Caleb returned back to Mannsville when his mother and grandparents purchased Rainbow Shores. He attended South Jefferson Central School and graduated in 2016. His true passion and talent were in lacrosse; he played on the SJ lacrosse team as well as several travel teams. He continued his lacrosse career at SUNY Oswego State where he received a 4-year Business Management degree graduating May 2020. He was the top scorer for the Lakers his sophomore year.
After graduating from college, Caleb worked at Gilles Auto Truck and Marine for a short time. He also worked for Luck Grove, where he traveled a lot and was able to try restaurants in many states along the east coast. In addition, he also worked at Rainbow Shores and Mill House Market alongside his mother, while always enjoying the opportunity to talk to the other employees and customers.
From a young age, Caleb had "foodie taste buds". He loved trying out new restaurants and talking about what he had eaten and his experiences at various establishments.
Last May he moved to Charleston, South Carolina and was employed at Munkle Brewing.
Caleb leaves behind his loving mother, Rebekah Alford; his stepfather, Jeff Edick; his grandparents, Timothy and Renee Alford; his stepsisters, Brandie Mack and Brittanie Edick; his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, Jessica and Bruce Gibson, Chris and Leanne Alford, Amanda and Brian Muto; his cousins, Molly, Emma, Will, Aubrey Gibson, Tyler Lapier, Zoey, Daniel Smith, Nathan, Jack Alford, Anna, Carter, Gwen Muto. Every person in Calebs family was so important to him.
Caleb was predeceased by his maternal great grandparents, Kenneth and Kathryn Reardon; and his paternal great grandparents, Harvey and Mary Alford.
Caleb friends and family boast him as a very heart warming, kind sole who would always put the shining light on others. He was humorous, playful and always making others feel important and appreciated.
Caleb has completed his journey to join hands with the Lord. May the Holy Spirit warm his heart with the everlasting light. His Love will live with us forever.
Services will be held at Carpenter Stoodley Funeral Home in Belleville NY. Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 22nd 2pm- 5 pm, Funeral Service will be Sunday, November23rd at 1pm at the funeral home. Caleb will be laid to rest in Ellisburg Cemetary.

Sometimes on my way home from work the train would be blocking the main road. I used to stop at the brewery near my job Caleb worked at to grab a beer and wait until the cargo train would pass. Had some great conversations with the kid. He was awesome, always in good mood and happy to see you. Honestly heartbroken when I found out of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
