On August 10, 2025 Maxine (Christensen) Fife died peacefully in Orem Utah, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maxine was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on April 6, 1939 to Mable Page Christensen and Reed Lavar Christensen. Maxine married Merrill Eugene Fife on June 8, 1956.
Maxine and Merrill spent their early years in Idaho and Utah. She moved with her family to Southern California in 1967 where she raised her children. Maxine and Merrill retired to Lindon, Utah in 2004.
Maxine’s chosen profession was motherhood, which she excelled in. She was a loving, tender, and nurturing mother and grandmother. She created a soft, safe place for all her children and grandchildren. She was a patient and masterful teacher.
Maxine served those around her, at church and in her community. She intentionally welcomed and included everyone, especially those who may have been overlooked. She lovingly served in all organizations in the church.
Maxine enjoyed painting, cake decorating, crocheting, and creating beautiful porcelain dolls. She was an amazing seamstress and a wonderful cook. Everyone loved her cheesecake. Maxine loved to sing. She had a beautiful voice and participated in church choir up to her death. Maxine was adventurous and enjoyed traveling around the world.
Those left to cherish her memory includes two sisters, Lorraine Shorzman and Darlene Newman; her six children, Lee and Bridgette Fife, Julie Ann and Wayne Parker, Sharla Nielson, Sherry and Paul McClatchy, David and April Fife, and Kathlene and Christopher Jackson; her 28 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; and the entire Covington community.
She has been reunited with her parents Mable and Reed Christensen, her siblings Marion Christensen and Dale Christensen, her beloved husband Merrill, her stillborn son, and her son-in-law David Mitchell, her grandson Jacob Daniel McClatchy, and her great-granddaughters Peatyn Lynn Thomas, Pearl Edgar, and Harmony Edgar.
Viewings will be held on Wednesday, August 13th from 6:30pm-8:00pm and Thursday, August 14th from 10:00am-10:45am in the church building at 610 West 100 South, Lindon, Utah.
The funeral will be held on August 14th from 11:00am – 12:00pm, and the interment will be from 12:30-1:00PM at East Lawn Memorial Hills, Provo, Utah.
