Christopher Chavez Obituary

On the morning of October 20, 2024, Christopher (Chris Chavo) Ray Chavez Passed away peacefully at his home in Springer, NM.  He was 50 years old.

Chris was born in Albuquerque, NM to Joe and Louise Chavez in November 1973.  He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Julio and Sohpia Chavez of Springer, NM, and by his grandparents Salvador and Phyllis Montoya of Albuquerque, NM, and his sister Cassandra Tafoya-Portillo of Springer, NM.   

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Louise Chavez, of Springer, NM, his sister Barbara Munoz, of Springer, NM, and his Daughter Samantha Chavez, of Springer, NM. His son Sergio Espinoza, of Cimarron, NM, as well as Multiple nieces and nephews.

Chris will be remembered as the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.  

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on November 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father Trieu as the Celebrant.  Inurnment will follow in the Springer Cemetery.
