Clifford John Steele

Clifford (Red) Steele passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.
Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Viola Steele his younger brother Douglas and older Brother Harry. He leaves Mary, his loving wife of 65 years, his daughter Tanya and son in law Randy Marks of Saratoga Springs, New York, His son Robert Bayless and Nola Meher-spedding of Gloversville, New York, Two Grandsons Brandon Brown and Corey Brown of Gansevoort, New York.
After graduation in 1954 from Gloversville High School in New York, Cliff went through Hospital Corps school serving a tour in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Corpsman. Continuing with the medical profession he graduated from Albany medical center of radiologic technology. He accepted the position of educational director of the school of radiologic technology at Glens Falls Hospital serving from 1961 to 1967. In 1967 he accepted the position of professor of medical imaging at Hudson Vally Community College, retiring in 1995.
During the summer months he was a Coast Guard Captain and licensed fishing guide chartering out of Lake George and Lake Ontario, in New York.
Cliff and Mary moved to Avon Park, Florida in 1995. They found a home and made many friends. He was a long-time member of River Greens Golf Course and Resurrection Lutheran Church. He served as board member of both organizations. He also served many years as Worship assistant under Pastor John Grodzinski of the Lutheran Church.
Burial will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida. The Family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice House for all of their support and assistance in these difficult times.
