Prior to his retirement, he was employed, for 25 years, as a firefighter with B Group of the Oswego Fire Department. He was the former owner, with his friend Jack Haynes, of the Residential Builders Construction Co. in Oswego.
Dan was well known for his fine woodworking skills. He enjoyed life and many of its activities, including boating, 4-wheeling, and his tractors. He also loved NASCAR and horses.
His family was the most important thing in his life, and he loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters, Jackie (Keith) Franklin of Scriba, Danielle (Kenneth) Bardin of Ashburn, VA, and Jeanette (Bryan) Stanard of Fulton; his wife, Jacqueline (David Price) Teifke of Watertown; his brother, Richard Teifke of Mexico, NY; ten grandchildren, Andrew, Kenneth, Nicole, Kristopher, Kyle, Ethan, Jessica, Iz, Katie, and Bryana; two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Jackson; and his close friend Eric Beshures, who was like a son to him.
Dan was predeceased by his son, Brian Teifke; two brothers, Donald Teifke and Walter Teifke; and his longtime companion, Donna Buskey.

I have fond memories of growing up next door to Dan. I remember his pigeon coop in the backyard, doing experiments with his chemistry set, and feeding his beagle Sammy steak bones. Fly high Dan. You will certainly be missed.
