Michael Celli Obituary

Michael Joseph Celli, 66, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in his home. He was born on March 18, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Joseph Celli and Maxine M. (Roberts) Celli.

Michael attended Carmichaels High School. He  proudly served in the United States Army. On May 29, 2015, he married Chesti A. (Rice) Celli. He worked as a heating and cooling technician for many years. Michael listened to the radio often, enjoying his favorite rock'n'roll oldies. In his spare time he'd play card games on his tablet. He took joy in being outdoors, whether it was doing yardwork or going camping. On Sundays, you could find him watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also a former member of the Nemacolin Citizens Club. Michael looked forward to any time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Michael Joseph Celli, Jr. of Nemacolin; daughter, Michelle Ray Varner (Joshua) of Morgantown, W.Va.; stepson, William Gorbey of Morgantown, W.Va.; stepdaughter, April Andrews (Will) of Mount Morris; grandchildren, Deontae, Shawnice, Macayla, Joshua, Bee, Ryanna, Brice, Tsarina, & Riley.; great-grandchildren, Quan and Matíyana; brothers, Lonnie Kevin Celli (Debbie) of Wilmington, N.C., and James Ira Celli (Ginger) of Greensboro; sister, Lisa Maxine Sumey (Bradley Allen) of Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.

All arrangements are private.
