Denise Delaney Obituary

Passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 63 years. Beloved mother of Grace and dear friend to many.

As a deeply dedicated Wisconsin State Public Defender, Denise spent her career fighting tirelessly for the rights of children in Milwaukee County. Her strong sense of social justice guided her every action, and her commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us was evident in all she did.

Denise had a love for good books, good movies, great shoes, and the joys of cooking and travel. An avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, she enjoyed sharing her passion for the team with friends and family. Her unique style was characterized by a penchant for black clothing, reflecting her great, yet dark, sense of humor. Denise was known for her quick wit and her ability to bring laughter to those around her. She embraced music and dancing as essential parts of her life, often sharing joyous moments with those she cherished.

Above all, Denise poured her heart and soul into raising her daughter Grace. She nurtured Grace with unconditional love and unwavering support, instilling in her the values of kindness, empathy, and resilience.

Her approach to life was simple and no-frills, yet her impact was profound. Denise will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but for the love and laughter she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy of compassion and advocacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Feerick Funeral Home (2025 E. Capitol Dr. Shorewood, WI 53211) at 2:30PM with a Celebration of Life at 3:00PM, and a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Denise’s daughter, Grace Williams.
