Doak Bybee Obituary

Doak Allen Bybee, age 84, of Livingston, TN, passed peacefully from this life on November 1, 2024 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. 

Doak was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, great- grandpa, uncle, and friend to many. Doak enjoyed raising coonhounds, coonhunting, fishing, gardening, playing with his goats, and riding the grand babies on the gator. 

Doak was preceded in death by his wife Linda L. Bybee, father and mother: Frank and Maude Bybee. Brothers: Woodrow Bybee, Grady Bybee, Donald Bybee, and Ronald Bybee. Sisters: Betty Bybee Long, Dean Bybee Newberry, Anna Bybee Richardson, Shirley Bybee Hammock, Faye Bybee Matthews, and Leola Bybee(infant). 

Doak is survived by his three children, Steve Bybee, and wife Amy, Kathy Wilson, and husband Wayne, Jeff Bybee and wife Sandy. Seven grandchildren: Justin Perdue and wife Ashlee, Garrett Emberton and wife Leslie, Makinsey Gilliam and husband Austin, Donovan Martin and Lydia, Matt Wilson, Braden Perdue, and Colin Bybee. Five great-grandchildren: Laurel Perdue, Henry Perdue, Anderson Gilliam, Caleb Perdue, and Lynnleigh Perdue.  Brothers: Michael Bybee and Roger Bybee. And a host of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers: Scott Bybee, Garrett Emberton, Levi Ledbetter, Braden Perdue, Randall Richardson, and Steve Wachala. 

Funeral services for Mr. Doak Bybee will be held on Tuesday, November 05, 2024 at 2 PM from the Hall Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with family welcoming friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, November 4th starting at 5 PM until 8 PM Officiating with the services will be Bro. Bruce Mullinex.
