Donna Schlernitzauer Obituary

Donna J. Schlernitzauer, 83 of Newark passed away on Monday October 7, 2024 at Altercare Newark South. She was born December 17, 1940 in Spencer, W.Va. to Lloyd Warren and Orva Olive (Mullens) Lynch.

Donna had been employed by Denison University for 25 years serving various responsibilities in the food service department. Her passtimes included reading, watching Hallmark and western movies, collecting precious moments and all types of strawberry items. She enjoyed square dancing. She was an active Band Mom with the Newark High School Band and was a fan of the OSU Marching Band. Her favorite times were spent with her family. She traveled extensively during her lifetime having visited 150 countries and sailed on 45 cruises.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Len; sons, Lenny (Leslie) Schlernitzauer of Corsicana, TX, Denny (Joetta) Schlernitzauer of Flat Rock, NC; grandchildren, Chelsea (Josh) Every of Zanesville, Nicholas Schlernitzauer of Chapel Hill, NC, Amanda Schlernitzauer of Charlotte, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Schlernitzauer; brothers, Bill Lynch, Jack Lynch, Fred Lynch.

A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Newark Memorial Gardens with Pastor Craig Burdick officiating.
