Doris James Obituary

It is with profound sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of our Mom, Doris S. James, 97, of Hamilton Township, NJ.
Doris was a proud resident of Hamilton her entire life. Born in 1928, she was a graduate of Hamilton High West Class of 1946. It was during her senior year of high school that she met the love of her life, Wilmer "Bud" James Jr., in a soda shop on Broad Street. They married soon after graduation and moved to North Carolina for two years where Bud played minor league baseball for the Philadelphia Athletics.
Doris was a stay-at-home Mom until her kids were in school then went to work for the Hamilton Township Board of Education as a school cafeteria worker. She worked 28 years with the township spending the last 26 at Yardville Elementary School. Although she loved the kids and teachers at Yardville, nothing meant more than her unending love for her family. Doris and Bud lived in the same home for 72 years because Doris adamantly refused to move. She always stated she wanted her kids to be able to come back to their home. She loved going to the Jersey shore, spending time on their boat, and making their annual family trip to Ocean City, NJ.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Thomas Watters, her husband Bud James, her daughter Karen Folis, her sons-in-law, Thomas Dragert and Dominic Anepete and her brothers James and George Watters.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Dragert, Donna Anepete and Diane James, her son-in-law, John Folis, her grandsons Mike and Matt (Elena) Folis and Kevin Dragert and her great-grandchildren, Julia and Ryan Folis and Olivia Folis.

To all the James girls. I knew some of you from St. Raphael´s school. My husband and I knew both your mom and dad. They were devout Catholics at
St. Raphael´s church. Many years ago my husband and I always sat near them. Your parents were such a beautiful couple. My husband and I were expecting our first child and your parents would see us in church, and must´ve said to each other, "I wonder if she´s having a boy or a girl." After my daughter was born, (34 years ago), they saw us in church once again, and said, "Oh, you were blessed with a baby girl. We were both wondering what you were going to have." I still remember them saying that.
I´m so sorry for your loss, of both your mom and dad. I did not know that your dad had passed, as we never saw the obit. May both your mom and dad rest in peace in the arms of the angels, and may the memories that meant the most to you girls live forever in your hearts.
