Dorothy Mackus, 99 of Chipley, Florida passed from this life on October 9, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born on July 31, 1926 in Yugoslavia to Frank and Rose Novak A resident of Washington County since 1944 and a devoted member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Dorothy found great joy in crocheting and cooking for those she loved. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Rose Novak; husband:Peter Mackus; sons: Frank Mackus, Richard Mackus; two brothers; one sisters.
She is survived by her sons: Edward Herbert Mackus of Chipley, FL, Peter Mackus of Maryland; grandchild: Edward Frank Mackus (Destiney Hope Mackus) of Chipley, FL; great grandchildren: Edward Frank Mackus Jr., Justin Wayne Mackus, Zackery Carter Mackus.
Service will be held 10 AM Monday, October 13, 2025 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Chipley, Florida with Father Paul Moody officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
