Douglas Ray Trivett, age 76, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at his home in Chilhowie, VA.
Doug was born on March 14, 1948, in Chilhowie, VA. He was a longtime coalminer and factory worker. He was a faithful member of Chilhowie Faith Mission Church. Doug is preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Katherine Trivett; sister Janet Ball; and brothers Carson Trivett, Ralph Trivett, Smith Trivett, and Bruce Trivett.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Trivett; children Sheila Greer & husband Jerry, Vickie Christian & husband Keith, and Douglas Trivett, Jr. & wife Teresa; grandchildren Ashley McCleese, Tabitha Compton & husband Mathanael, Kayla Ditto & husband Brian, Vickie Clemins & husband Roger, Stephanie Ellis & husband Robert, and Keith Christian, Jr.; his special boy Jayme “Biboo” Phillips; sisters Evelyn McBride and Sarah Crouse & husband Junior; along with many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM, Monday, October 28, 2024, from the Bradley’s Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Evangelist Jodi & Rosanne Whitaker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00PM on Monday evening at the funeral chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the Trivett Family.

Well Dad father's day coming up , it will be our first father's day without you! My heart breaks ever day without you in it . They say it will get easier, but I don't see how . The only way I can see it getting easier is when it's mine time and then we can be together again.. I would say take care, but I know the day you drew your last breath you was already been taken care of . We love you Dad .. ❤ June 2025.. Sheila

uncle Doug, you will be greatly missed! I have so many cherished memories of you and your crazy shenanigans! You always had a way of making everybody laugh with your crazy jokes and" special Doug phrases", that only you could get away with!
We will see you again soon in that spectacular mansion in the sky! I'm sure you are already roaming those streets of Gold and telling your jokes to all of your new friends.
Wander free knowing we will all be together again soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Doug was a special person with a great love for our Lord and Savior, and a great family man. A man with the purest heart and a sense of humor that made him even more special. He would always make me laugh. Doug will be missed and I'm praying for your family always. God bless.
